The Hanged Man card has the meaning of sacrifice, intuition, trial, and wisdom. It’s known for card finding wisdom after the tribulation. Thancred who went through the suffering of the loss of Minfilia and eventually overcome his trial after the battle against Ran’jit may suit well with this card.
This card is one of the visually well know card in tarot card. Usually the tarot card illustration is a person hanging under the tree, yet it does not show well with the story I wanted to tell. I composed Thancred upside down to keep the idea of The Hanged Man. Instead of tying the character, I tied a ribbon (symbolize Minfilia) on to his gunblades.
